Role Summary

ReutersWard Doha is seeking an experienced and visionary Risk Management Director to join our senior leadership team. Based in our central C-Ring Road offices, you will be the chief architect of our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework. You will lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of all strategic, financial, and operational risks to ensure the long-term stability and success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Governance & Strategy: Develop and implement a world-class ERM framework aligned with ISO 31000 and Qatari regulatory requirements.
• Strategic Advisory: Act as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on the risk implications of new business ventures, government tenders, and market expansions.
• Financial & Operational Risk: Lead deep-dive audits into credit, market, and liquidity risks, as well as operational vulnerabilities across all business units.
• Compliance Leadership: Ensure the organization remains in 100% compliance with Qatar’s evolving commercial laws and government tendering processes.
• Crisis & Continuity: Oversee the development of robust Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and disaster recovery strategies.
• Culture Building: Foster a proactive risk-aware culture across the organization through training and high-level stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 12+ years in risk management, with at least 5 years in a Director or Head of Risk capacity.
• Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field.
• Certification: Professional credentials such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager), PRM, or IRM are highly preferred.
• Regional Expertise: Strong knowledge of the Qatar legal and financial landscape is a significant advantage.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical capabilities, expert-level negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate complex risks to non-technical stakeholders.
