Risk Management Director

As we continue to scale our operations, we are seeking a visionary Risk Management Director to safeguard our business, assets, and reputation.

Position Overview

As the Risk Management Director, you will design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework. Operating out of our Port Sultan Qaboos location, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational, financial, legal, and supply chain risks inherent to high-volume maritime operations.

You will work closely with the executive leadership team to foster a proactive culture of safety, compliance, and strategic resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Risk Framework: Develop and execute the company’s overall risk management strategy, policies, and procedures in alignment with international maritime standards.
  • Operational & Supply Chain Mitigation: Identify and assess vulnerabilities within maritime supply chains, port operations, and logistics networks, implementing robust contingency plans.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to Omani maritime laws, international shipping regulations, port authority protocols, and environmental standards.
  • Financial & Legal Protection: Oversee corporate insurance portfolios (including marine cargo, liability, and hull insurance), manage claims processing, and review high-value vendor contracts.
  • Crisis Management: Establish and lead emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity protocols to minimize operational downtime during disruptions.
  • Audits & Reporting: Conduct regular risk audits, vulnerability assessments, and present comprehensive risk profiles and mitigation reports directly to the executive board.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in Risk Management, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally within maritime, shipping, logistics, or port operations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Risk Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Logistics, or a related field (Master’s or professional certifications like CRM, FRM, or ARM are highly preferred).
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, maritime law, insurance practices, and port compliance frameworks.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex crises, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is a strong asset.
