Risk Management – Manager/Supervisor

Job Description:

The Risk Management Manager/Supervisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the overall risk management framework and risk culture of Milli Re and its designated affiliated companies. This role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could potentially impact the organization’s objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Risk and Internal Control Officer and work closely with senior leadership and various departments to ensure that risk management policies and strategies are integrated into the company’s strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage Milli Re’s risk management framework.
  • Establish and maintain risk management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that Milli Re’s risk management practices align with local and international regulations, standards and frameworks.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across all business units and functions, including but not limited to financial, operational, regulatory, IT and strategic risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize potential negative impacts on the organization.
  • Provide the business with effective and timely risk management review, challenge and advice, represent a risk management viewpoint in risk identification, measurement, mitigation and reporting of risks.
  • Support Board of Directors, Audit Committee and senior management while ensuring timely escalation and reporting.
  • Liaise with the parent company to meet the consolidated reporting needs.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and industry partners, to ensure effective communication and compliance with risk-related requirements.
  • Promote a risk-awareness culture through the organization and provide guidance to employees on risk ownership and risk-related-responsibilities.
  • Support the design and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans to determine crisis response and evaluate post-incident reviews.
  • Develop and deliver risk management training programs and workshops to enhance risk awareness and capability across the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in related fields,
  • MSc in Financial Mathematics or Risk Management or professional certification (e.g., CRMA, FRM, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in risk management in insurance, private pension, finance, internal control, risk management, actuarial, or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and insurance regulations.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Deep understanding of risk management standards and principles and awareness of key developments in risk management best practice.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal & written communication skills and reporting & presentation abilities.
  • Experience in crisis management and business continuity planning is a plus.
  • Agile learner, open to new ways of thinking and new ideas; focused on continuous learning and bringing new information into your work.
  • Great teammate, willingness to share knowledge and experience within and across team and other functions.
