The Director of the Critical Care Stepdown Department (CCSD) directs and manages the operations and activities provided in the Department. He/She is responsible for the overall management of the department’s daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives. He/She is responsible for the staff performance and accomplishment of department responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Director is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting as a liaison with patients with their representatives, physicians, and employees. He/She is responsible for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
The Director of the Critical Care Stepdown Department assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing departments and staff to assure quality service on a 24-hour basis. The continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and service provided via the “HCA Patient Care Experience” process & program. Daily Nurse Leader Rounding on Patients to manage the patient’s expectations and experience. Ensures care provided meets the quality and satisfaction needs of the patients. Hardwire staff hourly rounding Manage Up and provide staff recognition He/She is responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards and other regulatory agencies, complying with corporate policy and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment on the units, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resources management.
HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.
Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and children. We also offer the area’s only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. At HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital patients come first – no matter what!
