Road Construction Supervisor manages daily site operations, ensuring projects meet timelines, budget, and quality standards by overseeing crews, enforcing safety, coordinating materials/subcontractors, and handling reports, acting as the crucial link between management, workers, and other stakeholders for efficient, safe road building.
Key Responsibilities:Project Oversight: Direct daily activities, interpret plans, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project specs, budgets, and
schedules.Safety & Quality: Implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with codes, and perform quality control
checks.Team Management: Supervise workers, assign tasks, train, resolve issues, and manage subcontractors and vendors.Resource & Planning: Schedule work, manage equipment, order materials, and plan for roadblocks.Reporting: Prepare daily logs, compile records, and provide status updates to management.Communication: Liaise with clients, engineers, and local agencies; maintain clear communication for smooth workflow. Essential Skills & Qualifications:Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations (OSHA), and equipment.Experience with civil engineering drawings and potentially CAD software.High school diploma; often supplemented by an Associate's or Bachelor's in Construction Management/Civil Engineering.
