Job Overview: The Road Design Engineer Grade A is responsible for designing and developing road infrastructure projects in Qatar, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. This role involves the planning, design, and coordination of road construction and improvement projects, contributing to the development of a sustainable and efficient transportation network in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed road and highway design drawings including horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, and cross-sections.
• Prepare design calculations for pavement structures, junction layouts, roundabouts, and road safety features.
• Conduct geometric design analysis using design software and ensure compliance with relevant standards (AASHTO, BS, Qatar Highway Design Manual, etc.).
• Review and coordinate designs with other disciplines (drainage, utilities, structures, and traffic engineering).
• Prepare tender drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications for road design projects.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
• Ensure designs meet client requirements, authority regulations, and sustainable design practices.
• Provide input for value engineering and propose innovative, cost-effective design solutions.
• Assist in design submissions and follow-up with authorities for approvals.
• Maintain design records, reports, and documentation as per company QA/QC standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in road and highway design.
• Strong expertise in geometric design, pavement design, and road safety standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and road design software (InRoads, OpenRoads, MX Road, or similar).
• Knowledge of international and local design standards (QHDM, AASHTO, BS/EN, etc.).
