Roads & Infrastructure Engineer (Lead)

Job Summary:

Vertex Engineering Consultancy LLC is looking for a highly experienced and motivated Lead Roads & Infrastructure Engineer to independently manage and lead all Roads & Infrastructure related projects across the organization.

The candidate shall be responsible for technical leadership, project execution, multidisciplinary coordination, engineering reviews, survey coordination, authority approvals, construction support, and management of infrastructure development projects from concept to commissioning stages.

The ideal candidate shall possess strong experience in Roads, Infrastructure, Utilities, Drainage, Earthworks, and Survey-related engineering studies including Topographic Survey, Hydrology, Hydraulics, Utility Mapping, and associated infrastructure investigations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all Roads & Infrastructure engineering projects as Lead Engineer.
  • Handle complete project lifecycle including:
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Concept Design
  • FEED
  • Detailed Engineering
  • Tender Engineering
  • Construction Support
  • As-Built Engineering
  • Lead engineering activities related to:
  • Roads & Highways
  • Internal Roads
  • Access Roads
  • Pavement Design
  • Junction Improvements
  • Grading & Earthworks
  • Storm Water Drainage
  • Wadis & Culverts
  • Utility Corridors
  • Infrastructure Networks
  • Site Development
  • Coordinate and review all survey and field investigation activities including:
  • Topographical Surveys
  • Route Surveys
  • Utility Surveys
  • Underground Utility Mapping
  • Hydrology Studies
  • Hydraulic Studies
  • Flood Assessment Studies
  • Traffic Studies
  • Geotechnical Investigations
  • Bathymetric Surveys (if applicable)
  • GIS Mapping & Spatial Data
  • Drone / LiDAR Surveys
  • Review survey outputs, contour data, alignments, profiles, sections, hydrology reports, and engineering studies.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical teams, environmental consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all designs comply with Oman authority regulations, municipal standards, MOTC requirements, and client specifications.
  • Lead multidisciplinary coordination with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process disciplines.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities for technical discussions and project approvals.
  • Manage project schedules, manpower allocation, deliverable tracking, and engineering quality control.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, designers, CAD teams, and survey personnel.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, technical assessments, and construction supervision support.
  • Support tendering and business development activities including:
  • Technical Proposals
  • Scope Development
  • Estimation Support
  • Manpower Planning
  • Technical Clarifications
  • Identify technical risks, engineering constraints, and propose optimized engineering solutions.
  • Ensure proper implementation of HSE standards and quality procedures throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–15 years of experience in Roads & Infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in roads, drainage, infrastructure, grading, and utility coordination projects.
  • Strong experience in survey coordination and infrastructure-related engineering studies.
  • Experience in Oman/GCC infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oman municipality requirements, MOTC standards, and authority approval procedures.
  • Experience in consultancy, EPC, or infrastructure engineering organizations preferred.
