Looking for an exciting and challenging career in transportation? We are currently seeking a General Transportation Tech I or II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of highways, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure. You will work in a team environment to operate light and heavy equipment. Work alongside other full-time employees with duties ranging from sign replacement, herbicide application, roadway level-up, edge repair, tree trimming, litter pick-up, project inspection and much more. You will also assist with various construction and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to work well in a team environment, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills. General Transportation Tech I
Performs routine transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment; traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
General Transportation Tech II
Performs moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance support work such as: maintenance contract and/or material and process inspections; roadway maintenance and repair; light and heavy equipment operation; preventive and minor maintenance on equipment, traffic control; and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Experience: 1 year of experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent). Related technical training or education from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-by-year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications.

Must be able to report for duty within 60 minutes of notification on a 24-hour basis to respond to emergency situations.
