Rollout Engineer - Uganda

The ideal candidate will Support the planning, coordination, and execution of rollout projects by ensuring site readiness, supervising installation activities, and maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and technical standards to deliver sites on time and within budget.

Main job duties and responsibilities:

1. Support the development and execution of rollout plans to ensure timely and cost-effective site delivery.
2. Monitor project progress and assist in implementing corrective or recovery actions when required.
3. Ensure all required permits, approvals, access arrangements, and materials are secured prior to site execution.
4. Coordinate with landlords, local authorities, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project implementation.
5. Oversee site activities including civil works, power installations (including solar systems), equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades.
6. Ensure all works comply with technical specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements.
7. Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and procedures across project teams and subcontractors.
8. Support incident prevention initiatives and follow up on corrective actions.
9. Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure high-quality, first-time-right project delivery.
10. Coordinate inspections, manage punch list closure, and prepare handover documentation for client acceptance.
11. Coordinate materials, logistics, and subcontractor activities to ensure efficient project execution.
12. Monitor project costs, identify potential variances, and support cost control efforts.
13. Prepare accurate progress reports, dashboards, and project updates.
14. Participate in internal and client progress meetings to track performance and address project issues.
15. Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job’s specialty.

Educational background and previous experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in in Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Power, Construction Management.
2. From 3 – 5 years of experience in telecommunications, with at least 2 years in the same role.
