Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and roofing materials.
• Prepare roofing surfaces by removing old materials, cleaning debris, and ensuring proper framing and sheathing.
• Measure and cut roofing materials accurately according to project blueprints and schematics.
• Work safely at heights, following all safety protocols including the use of harnesses and fall protection equipment.
• Support the setup of scaffolding, staging, and other construction site logistics to ensure efficient workflow.
• Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other tradespeople to coordinate project tasks seamlessly.
• Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, plywood, and other roofing components.

Skills

• Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, chisels) and power tools (nail guns, drills).
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings for accurate project execution.
• Knowledge of roofing techniques including shingling, metal roofing, flat roof systems, and restoration methods.
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes to assist in material planning and job costing.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation.
• Basic understanding of related trades such as framing carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, plumbing integration, welding, tile laying, and concrete forming.
