Role overview
The Roofing Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential roofs so that leaks are solved correctly the first time, with no shortcuts, no guesswork, and no unnecessary call-backs. This person represents our promise to Nashville homeowners to combine honest guidance, quality workmanship, and education on all things roofing.
What you’ll do:
- Diagnose roof leaks and issues on asphalt shingle and related residential systems, identify the true source of the problem, and propose a permanent repair solution.
- Perform high-quality repairs (flashing, pipe boots, vents, penetrations, skylights, chimney areas, decking replacement, and shingles) according to manufacturer specs and our workmanship standards.
- Complete repairs right the first time, using proper materials and methods – not caulk-as-a-fix, not temporary patches, and never “good enough for now.”
- Conduct thorough roof inspections, document conditions with photos and notes, and communicate clearly with our office and the homeowner.
- Educate and consult homeowners on what you found, what’s needed, what can wait, and what to watch for, in a clear, no-pressure way that aligns with our consultative approach.
- Maintain a clean, safe jobsite, protect landscaping and property, and ensure everything is picked up and secure before leaving.
- Follow all safety procedures, including fall protection and OSHA requirements, and care for company tools, truck, and materials.
The kind of person we’re looking for:
- Takes pride in craftsmanship and can’t stand lazy work, shortcuts, or “caulk and hope” repairs.
- Thinks like a problem-solver: you want to find the real cause of the issue, not just treat the symptom.
- Honest and direct with homeowners and teammates – you tell the truth, even when it’s harder in the moment.
- Self-motivated and reliable: shows up on time, prepared, and ready to work a full, productive day in all types of weather.
- Strong communicator who can explain technical roofing issues in simple terms without pressure or scare tactics.
- Coachable, willing to follow our processes, and open to feedback and ongoing training.
- Can pass a background check and drug test.
Skills and experience:
- 2+ years of residential roof repair/service experience preferred (leak investigation, flashings, penetrations, shingles, ventilation, etc.).
- Solid understanding of how a roofing system works as a whole (decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, penetrations).
- Ability to safely use ladders, harnesses, and power tools, and work comfortably at heights.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to use a smartphone/tablet for photos, notes, and job documentation.
What it’s like to work here:
- Established Nashville roofing company known for honesty, education, and standing behind our workmanship for the long haul.
- A team that values integrity, accountability, and doing the right thing for the homeowner, even when no one is watching.
- Training and support to deepen your technical skills and your ability to consult and educate homeowners.
What We Offer:
- Paid training in roofing basics, inspections, and our advisory process.
- Clear expectations, coaching, and regular feedback (we don’t leave you guessing).
- Supportive team culture in a stable, locally owned company.
- Competitive base pay plus monthly and quarterly performance bonuses.
You’re paid a competitive hourly rate, and then once a month you can earn a performance bonus based on three things: low callbacks, great documentation/communication with our admins, and steady production without shortcuts.
If you take care of the customer and do it right the first time, we share the win with you. If you rush and cause callbacks, that’s what kills the bonus.
- Company truck for appointments.
- 401K
- Healthcare
If this sounds like you - and you’re allergic to shortcuts, sloppy work, and “just caulk it” repairs - submit your resume and a brief note about your roofing repair experience and why you’d be a good fit.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
