Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Safety Engineer with around 2 years of experience in the construction industry. The candidate will assist in maintaining workplace safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for construction projects.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and internal audits.
- Identify unsafe acts or conditions and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Participate in risk assessments and preparation of safety plans.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; assist in preparing reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company safety regulations.
- Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, and documentation.
- Inspect tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Monitor safe handling, usage, and storage of construction materials.
- Support in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
- Conduct mock drills and evacuation exercises at site.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure safety practices are followed.
- Liaise with external safety auditors and government authorities during inspections.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Engineer in the construction industry.
- Certification in safety management (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Good communication, observation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively under site conditions and deadlines.
