1. Site Safety Compliance & Monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety inspections at the construction site.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety norms (BIS, NBC, Factories Act, OSHA guidelines where applicable).
- Monitor high-risk activities (work at height, scaffolding, lifting, excavation, hot work).
- Verify PPE usage across all site personnel.
2. Safety Planning & Documentation
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Safety Plans, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain updated safety documentation—incident logs, training registers, inspection checklists, PTW (Permit to Work) records.
- Ensure all contractors comply with the site safety management plan.
3. Incident Prevention & Investigation
Responsibilities:
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Lead investigations of near misses, first-aid cases, accidents, and submit root cause analysis (RCA).
- Track trends and propose measures to minimize recurrence.
4. Safety Training & Awareness
Responsibilities:
- Conduct induction training for new workers and contractors.
- Organize regular tool-box talks, safety drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure high-risk teams receive specialized training (scaffolding, electrical, lifting operations, confined spaces).
5. Contractor Safety Management
Responsibilities:
- Check contractor safety compliance before mobilization (PPE readiness, certifications, insurance, machinery fitness).
- Monitor contractor adherence to safety norms during execution.
- Enforce penalties for non-compliance and promote a culture of safety partnership.
6. Emergency Preparedness
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and test emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, assembly points).
- Conduct mock drills for fire, evacuation, and medical emergencies.
- Ensure proper signage and emergency response plans are displayed on site.
7. Regulatory & Audit Compliance
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and statutory safety requirements.
- Facilitate internal and external safety audits.
- Close audit observations within defined timelines.
