Job Title: Safety Officer (HSE)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer (HSE) to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on a 1-year Oil & Gas or Civil Construction project. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and risk assessments
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety standards
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports
• Monitor use of PPE and safe work practices
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, and records
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and method statements

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer (Oil & Gas or Civil Construction)
• Valid experience certificates (mandatory)
• Recognized HSE certifications, such as:
• NEBOSH (IGC or equivalent)
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards
• Experience working on project-based construction or oil & gas sites
• Ability to work independently and under site pressure

Preferred Skills

• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Leadership and safety awareness training capability
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures
• Computer skills for reporting and documentation
