Job Brief

Are you an experienced Safety Officer with strong knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations and a proven track record of implementing effective safety programs?

We are looking for a competent and proactive Safety Officer to establish and maintain a culture of safety excellence across operations. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with applicable safety laws and standards, proactively identify workplace hazards, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

This role is critical in safeguarding employees, visitors, contractors, company assets, and facilities by implementing structured safety systems and preventive strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1️ Safety Policy Development

  • Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with local laws and industry standards.
  • Ensure alignment with statutory safety requirements and internal compliance frameworks.

2️ Compliance & Risk Management

  • Monitor workplace safety compliance across departments.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Recommend and implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Ensure availability, inspection, and usability of safety equipment.

3️ Regulatory Monitoring

  • Stay updated with current occupational safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Ensure operations remain compliant with all applicable statutory requirements.

4️ Emergency Preparedness

  • Support development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate fire drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency simulations.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is functional and accessible.

5️ Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate incident records and compliance documentation.

6️ Safety Inspections & Audits

  • Conduct routine site inspections and internal safety audits.
  • Identify potential safety violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor closure of audit findings.

7️ Training & Awareness

  • Conduct regular safety induction programs and toolbox talks.
  • Organize safety campaigns to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on safety matters.

8️ Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate safety records including:
  • Inspection reports
  • Incident logs
  • Training records
  • Risk assessment documentation
  • Prepare periodic safety performance reports for management review.

9️ Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, HR, administration, and project teams to integrate safety practices into daily activities.
  • Coordinate with external authorities, insurance providers, and regulatory bodies when required.

Tasks & Operational Duties

  • Develop and maintain workplace safety strategies and action plans.
  • Conduct periodic workplace hazard assessments.
  • Monitor effectiveness of implemented safety measures.
  • Recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in all operational areas.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in health & safety management systems.

Required Education/ Qualification/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a safety-related role.
  • Experience within the regulatory context preferred.
  • Strong understanding of workplace risk assessment and compliance management.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Certification
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) or equivalent

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: 7K + 675 for food .
