The Civil Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety procedures at civil construction sites. The role ensures that all site activities comply with safety standards, legal requirements, and company policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, and enforce site-specific Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local safety regulations, including statutory requirements under the Factories Act and Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety induction programs for new workers and subcontractors.
  • Supervise high-risk civil activities (e.g., excavation, scaffolding, formwork, concreting, working at height, lifting operations).
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report, record, and investigate all accidents, near-misses, and unsafe incidents; recommend preventive actions.
  • Maintain and update site safety documentation — checklists, permits, inspection reports, and incident logs.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and promote a positive safety culture on site.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and supervisors to implement corrective and preventive safety measures.
  • Support emergency preparedness, fire drills, and first aid arrangements at the site.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Certification in safety (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in construction site safety (civil/infrastructure projects preferred).
  • Sound knowledge of construction safety standards, hazard identification, and risk assessment procedures.
  • Familiarity with local regulations such as IS codes, BOCW Act, and other statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
