Job Summary:
Bin Arbaid Holding is seeking a proactive and experienced HSE/Safety Officer with a strong background in construction and oil & gas sectors to oversee and enhance health, safety, and environmental standards across our projects in Qatar. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations, conducting safety audits, and fostering a safety-centric culture within diverse operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures aligned with Qatar’s occupational health and safety standards, with specific focus on construction and oil & gas activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and site audits across construction sites, oil & gas facilities, and other operational areas.
- Identify hazards, report unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports, and facilitate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs tailored to construction and oil & gas operations.
- Enforce the proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols among all personnel and contractors.
- Maintain safety documentation, incident reports, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with client representatives, and project management to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility throughout all levels of the organization.
- Stay updated with the latest safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices relevant to construction and oil & gas sectors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience as a Safety Officer, with significant exposure to construction and oil & gas projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Qatar’s safety regulations and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar safety professional qualifications.
- Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations in construction and oil & gas environments.
- Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary project environment.
- Proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
