Safety Officer – Road Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer with a strong background in road construction and infrastructure projects to join our team in Ajman.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with UAE safety regulations, implementing effective safety procedures, and maintaining a safe working environment across all project sites. The role requires close coordination with site teams, engineers, and regulatory authorities to ensure all activities are carried out safely and in line with approved standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with UAE safety regulations and standards on-site
• Implement and enforce health & safety policies and procedures
• Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved method statements and risk assessments
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits

Risk Assessment & Control

• Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments for all activities
• Develop and implement control measures to minimize risks
• Prepare and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements (MS)
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all workers

Site Monitoring & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near misses
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure all safety documentation is properly maintained and updated

Training & Awareness

• Conduct safety inductions for new employees and visitors
• Organize regular toolbox talks and safety training sessions
• Promote a strong safety culture among workers and staff

Regulatory Coordination

• Liaise with local authorities and consultants regarding safety compliance
• Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are in place before work execution
• Support compliance with municipality and road authority safety requirements

Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and implement emergency response plans
• Ensure availability of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment
• Conduct emergency drills and ensure site readiness

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience as a Safety Officer in road construction (MANDATORY)
• Strong knowledge of roadworks and infrastructure safety practices
• Familiarity with UAE safety regulations and authority requirements
• Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (preferred)
• Good knowledge of risk assessment and safety documentation
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Must be fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu
• UAE Driving License is an advantage
• Must be available for immediate joining
