Safety Officer / Safety Lead - Building Construction

Job Title: Safety Officer – CPWD Building Construction

NOTE : IMMEDIATE JOINERS WILL BE MORE PREFERRED

Qualification & Experience:

• Recognized Degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture with at least 2 years of supervisory experience in building or other construction works, OR
• Recognized Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology with at least 5 years of supervisory experience in building or construction works.
• Recognized Degree or 1-year Diploma in Industrial Safety (from an institute recognized by AICTE or State Council of Technical Education) with at least one elective in Construction Safety.
• Preferably knowledge of the local language spoken by the majority of workers at site.

Alternate Qualification (as per Indian Factories Act, 1948):

• Graduate Degree in Science (Physics or Chemistry) with Degree / 1-year Diploma in Industrial Safety, and minimum 5 years’ practical experience in construction works or plants as a Safety Officer.

Mandatory Requirement:

• Proven experience in CPWD building construction projects with knowledge of CPWD safety standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor safety procedures in line with CPWD, IS codes, and statutory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards at all construction stages.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for workers.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases; prepare reports and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and client representatives on safety-related matters.
• Maintain records of safety checklists, permits, and statutory documentation.
• Promote a culture of safety among the workforce.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of construction safety laws, CPWD safety codes, and statutory requirements.
• Hands-on experience in implementing site safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills in English and local language.
• Ability to train and motivate workers towards safe practices.
• Strong reporting and documentation abilities.

Location: Pune / Pan India (as per project requirements)

Reporting To: Project Manager / Director

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
