The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing client accounts. This role focuses on building strong, long-term relationships, understanding client needs, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities to drive revenue growth and retention. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, a trusted advisor to clients, and a collaborative team player.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of assigned key accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve growth, retention, and satisfaction targets.
  • Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs) with clients to align on goals, demonstrate ROI, and strategize for the future.
  • Build deep, multi-level relationships within client organizations, from end-users to C-level executives.

Revenue Growth & Retention

  • Proactively identify, forecast, and pursue opportunities for account expansion (upsells, cross-sells, and renewals).
  • * Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets (quota) for your account portfolio.
  • * Own the renewal process, ensuring high retention rates and negotiating contract terms.
  • * Collaborate with the new business sales team on smooth client onboarding and handoff.


Internal Coordination & Advocacy

* Act as the client's internal advocate, coordinating with Product, Marketing, Support, and Success teams to ensure client needs are met.

* Provide clear, structured feedback to internal teams on client needs, market trends, and product improvements.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information, activities, and forecasts in the CRM

Required Skills & Qualifications

* **Experience:** 3+ years of proven experience in a B2B sales, account management, or customer success role, preferably in IT infrastructure and Software solution.

* **Track Record:** Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales quotas and managing a book of business.


* Skills:

  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to understand complex client needs and translate them into solutions.
  • Proficient in CRM software.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with a consultative or solution-selling methodology (e.g., SPIN, Challenger Sale).
