Sales Engineer - HVAC

Role Overview

We are seeking a Sales Engineer – HVAC with proven expertise in project sales in HVAC . The role focuses on selling and executing HVAC projects, including chillers and air-cooling systems. Should have at least 70% of experience in project sales compared to equipment sales. The role is best suited for candidates with full-cycle project sales experience, rather than retrofit or maintenance focused backgrounds.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute towards developing sales plans and implement sales strategies to achieve annual targets.
  • Generate qualified enquiries for HVAC products and systems.
  • Prepare competitive quotations and technical proposals.
  • Identify and probe future product and system requirements of clients within targeted market segments.
  • Negotiate pricing, specifications, delivery timelines and terms to secure orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and MEP contractors.
  • Provide market intelligence and recommend new products/solutions.
  • Prepare timely and accurate sales reports.
  • Work closely with internal Projects Department for design and project updates.
  • Engage with clients to define requirements for complex systems and ensure successful project execution.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the HVAC industry, specifically in chillers and air-cooling solutions.
  • Experience in project sales of HVAC products including air-cooled & water-cooled chillers, packaged units, DX systems, VRF/VRV etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge, negotiation, and deal-closing skills.
  • Experience in preparing proposals/presentations for RFI/RFP/RFQ responses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Commercial and contractual acumen.
  • Market intelligence and technical expertise in HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
