Job Title: Sales Engineer – Scaffolding

Location: Pune

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reports to: Sales Manager / Business Head

Job Purpose:

To promote, market, and sell scaffolding products and solutions by leveraging technical expertise in mechanical engineering. The role involves understanding customer requirements, providing tailored solutions, and driving sales growth in construction, oil & gas, power, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing clients in the scaffolding industry.
  • Understand customer needs and propose appropriate scaffolding solutions (modular, cuplock, ringlock, frame scaffolding, etc.).
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain products and services to clients.
  • Collaborate with the design and operations team to prepare proposals, BOQs, quotations, and technical submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate project requirements and provide suitable technical solutions.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of agreement with clients.
  • Provide after-sales technical support and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an updated database of projects, clients, competitors, and market trends.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, networking events, and seminars to enhance market presence.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, safety standards, and industry practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand structural requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or related design tools is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 2–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in scaffolding / construction / oil & gas / industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of local and international scaffolding standards (IS, BS, OSHA, etc.) preferred.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively.

Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Sales revenue achievement vs. targets.
  • Number of new accounts acquired and retained.
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of technical proposals and quotations.
  • Market intelligence and competitor activity reporting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
