Sales engineer (steel)

The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing sales activities related to steel structures, structural fabrication, and metal works projects. The role combines technical expertise with strong commercial skills to secure projects, build client relationships, and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in steel structures and metal works.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and cost estimates.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to determine scope and pricing.
  • Coordinate with estimation, engineering, and production teams for accurate offers.
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings to understand project requirements.
  • Negotiate contract terms and close sales deals.
  • Follow up on submitted quotations and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and upcoming projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and project specifications.
  • Support project handover to the execution team after contract award.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in sales of steel structures, structural steel fabrication, or metal works.
  • Strong understanding of drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in the Saudi construction market is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driving license (KSA).
