Sales Executive - Modern Trade

Job Summary:


The Sales Executive – Modern Trade is responsible for driving sales and achieving revenue targets by managing relationships with modern trade retailers. The role includes ensuring product visibility, executing promotions, expanding product placements, and maintaining strong partnerships with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets in the modern trade channel.
  • Drive volume and value growth across assigned accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the brands managers.
  • Negotiate listings, visibility agreements, and promotions with key retailers.
  • Ensure proper placement of products and planogram compliance.
  • Monitor and improve product visibility, shelf space, and merchandising.
  • Coordinate and execute in-store promotions and marketing activities.
  • Track effectiveness of trade promotions and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor stock levels at store and distributor levels.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain and distributors for timely replenishment.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and new launches.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends.
  • Maintain and share regular sales reports and market feedback.
  • Track KPIs such as sales volume, revenue, coverage, and visibility metrics.


Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in FMCG/Consumer Goods sales, preferably in modern trade.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of retail dynamics and shopper behavior.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
