sales representative

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively finding new leads through cold calling, networking, and referrals, as well as following up on inbound inquiries.
  • Sales Presentations & Demos: Presenting, promoting, and selling products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive business relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Closing Sales: Negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to close deals and achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas.
  • Market Analysis: Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate client databases, records, and reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven work experience as a sales representative or in a similar customer-facing role.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-Oriented: A strong, self-driven focus on achieving and exceeding performance-driven targets.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of company products or services and the ability to demonstrate them effectively.
  • Education: A high school diploma is generally required; a bachelor's degree in business or marketing is often preferred.

Common Work Environments

  • Inside Sales: Working from an office, phone, or email to connect with customers.
  • Outside Sales: Traveling to meet clients in person for demonstrations and negotiations.
