Sales Support Manager


On this position you will support the sales assigned organization (Division & Market) and customers throughout the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the applied products and technology, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area.

You will be mainly responsible for:

  • Offering technical advice and providing comment on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Specialists with regard to ABB products/systems/applications.
  • Providing technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations.
  • Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs.
  • Proposing technical solutions for complex enquiries.
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers on complex product issues.
  • Offering product/solution/service related training.
  • Preparing and checking technical articles for publication.
  • Supporting the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers.
  • Providing technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations and offering product/solution/service related training.
  • Preparing/supporting preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives.
  • Participating in the kick off meeting organized by the project team.
  • Defining cost for the proposed solution and communicating to Sales organization.
  • Providing information to the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy and sometimes participating in the risk review assessment.
  • Analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization.
  • Performing lost proposal analysis, identifying potential cause, and recommending future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.

Qualifications for the role:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • You possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • You possess solid experience in the tendering process
  • You have the ability to compare different bids from suppliers
  • You possess knowledge of energy industry processes
  • Familiarity with the ABB portfolio would be an asset
  • You possess strong problem-solving abilities
  • You have excellent presentation skills
  • You possess a collaborative mindset and value teamwork
  • You have proficiency in Arabic and English.
  • You possess knowledge of French, which will be considered an added value
