Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) continues to grow with a solid 70 years of providing solutions to challenging transportation problems. We continue to expand beyond our corporate headquarters in St. Cloud, MN – operating globally.

The Logistics Division is our fastest growing division, and we are seeking a Sales Team Manager for our Lenexa, KS office.

Role summary: Reporting to the Regional Office Director, the Sales Team Manager will provide leadership to their assigned sales team. Responsibilities include: Being accountable for managing, developing and helping National Sales Representatives. Implements sales goals and corresponding plans to increase revenue and client base. Supervises and coordinates the activities of their sales team to maximize profitability and growth consistent with company vision and values. The Sales Team Manager will also have responsibility in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and pricing review.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong employee performance management, training and coaching, recognition, and reward skills preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting, forecasting sales, profit & loss statements and accounting required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff. Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills; able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and the internet (social media, internet database and research tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the sales effort of a team as they secure, build, maintain and manage customer relationships
  • Support the qualification of new prospects via inside sales development
  • Provide guidance of converting inbound prospect calls to sales
  • Provide effective employee performance management utilizing SMART goals, constructive feedback, coaching for improvement, and progressive discipline; design and implement on-going training for current employees; recommend development plan priorities for individual employees of the team and monitor progress against development priorities
  • Partner with Human Resources in the recruiting, interviewing, selection, on-boarding, and training of new employees
  • Provide recognition and encouragement for milestone achievement and results
  • Provide guidance of converting inbound prospect calls to sales
  • Work with team to make outbound follow-up calls to existing and potential customers via phone and email to pursue quality business opportunities
  • Assist team members with any pricing or opportunity review as needed
  • Monitor sales pipeline and activity metrics
  • Function consistently, effectively and reliably in accordance with the Company's values as set forth in our core competencies and behaviors to foster ATS's culture (All Employee Competencies)
  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours, and infrequent travel may be required. Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel

Compensation & Benefits

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $57,000 to $85,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
