Summary:

As a Sales Trainer, you will develop and implement various sales training programs for commercial and residential sales representatives. Although this position will develop and implement training initiatives for existing residential and commercial salespeople to elevate skill set and knowledge base, this role will focus primarily on tasks related to onboarding and training new branch salespeople. The Sales Trainer will work closely with the Directors of Commercial and Residential Sales to create and execute the necessary sales training content.


What You'll Do:

  • Onboarding Training New Sales Hires
    • Trains and transitions newly hired members of the sales team within the Vector branches.
    • Ensures that all new commercial and residential sales hires get consistent baseline training in the first 90 days on approved Vector product, internal processes and procedures, prospecting targets, pricing, and other aspects of the job deemed critical for success by the sales Directors.
  • Ongoing Training Existing Sales Team
    • Works with the sales directors on best practices for existing sales representatives to exceed expected booking and RMR sales quotas.
    • Engaged with existing sales representatives to determine training priorities.
    • Coaches existing sales representatives on best practices to maintain expected sales quotas.
    • Follow up with existing sales representatives to determine whether additional training is necessary.
  • Vendor Relations
    • Communicates with key approved vendors on training support documents and videos.
    • Determines where we can get support from vendors to support our sales organization.
  • External Training Evaluation
    • This person is to be an expert in the field of sales training.
    • Thus, it is expected that they stay current with training trends, especially with the changing dynamics in the workplace that impact our salespeople and customers.
    • On occasion, attends external training seminars to ensure Vector is a leader in this area.

What You'll Need:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a sales or training role.
    • Sales experience in the home or commercial security industry is preferred.
  • Certification/License:
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
  • Technical:
    • Must possess a solid understanding of the technical aspects of security systems
  • Organization Skills:
    • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects at a time.
    • Must be able to meet the timelines established by the sales directors.
  • Communication:
    • Must be able to effectively communicate various sales strategies to new and experienced sales representatives.
