Role Overview
The Salesforce Functional Consultant will be responsible for leading business discovery, designing scalable Salesforce solutions, and translating business requirements into functional specifications. The role demands strong stakeholder management, deep understanding of Salesforce capabilities, and the ability to work closely with technical teams to deliver high-quality implementations across Sales, Service, and Marketing clouds.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
Translate business needs into clear, structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
Create end-to-end process maps, data models, and gap analyses.
Design scalable and best-practice Salesforce solutions aligned to business objectives.
Configure Salesforce features including Leads, Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes, Approvals, Case Management, Reports & Dashboards, Flows.
Define data migration and data quality requirements.
Ensure design alignment with Salesforce limits, governance, and roadmap.
Work closely with technical architects and developers to translate requirements into technical specs.
Support build activities, perform configuration, and validate customizations.
Create test scenarios and support SIT/UAT cycles, defect management, and release readiness.
Act as the primary liaison between business teams and technical teams.
Manage client expectations, drive decisions, and ensure solution sign-offs.
Support project planning, risk identification, and dependency management.
Prepare training materials and deliver end-user training sessions.
Support change management activities and ensure user adoption.
Provide post-go-live hypercare and continuous improvement recommendations.
3–8 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Functional Consultant/Business Analyst.
Strong knowledge of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and at least one of: CPQ, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Field Service, or Commerce Cloud.
Experience in writing user stories, process flows, BRDs/FSDs, and mapping business processes.
Hands-on Salesforce configuration skills (Flows, Permissions, Objects, Validation Rules).
Understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and data migration approaches.
Ability to collaborate with technical teams (developers, architects).
Jira / Azure DevOps for user story management.
Miro / Visio / Lucidchart for process modelling.
Excel / PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
Salesforce Administrator (ADM-201).
Salesforce Business Analyst Certification.
Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud Consultant.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented mindset.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (preferred).
