Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic SAP ABAP Lead to manage ABAP development activities for a major SAP transformation program. This role will lead a team of developers, ensure high-quality code delivery, and align development efforts with functional and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP ABAP development for HANA, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate ABAP development activities for SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with functional specifications, technical requirements, and project objectives.
Review and approve technical designs, custom code, reports, interfaces, forms, and enhancements to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Collaborate with functional teams, technical architects, and integration specialists to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business needs.
Mentor and guide ABAP developers, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices in SAP development.
Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize performance, and resolve defects in ABAP programs to ensure seamless system functionality.
Ensure adherence to SAP development governance, security standards, and project timelines.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical designs, data models, and development deliverables for future reference and audit readiness.
Stay updated on the latest SAP technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions and improvements.
Experience:
8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA.
Proven experience in leading ABAP development teams in large-scale SAP transformation programs.
Strong expertise in SAP ABAP development, including workflows, reports, enhancements, forms, and integration with other SAP modules.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ABAP for HANA, including CDS views, AMDP, and OData services.
Strong understanding of SAP development tools, debugging techniques, and performance optimization.
Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration is a plus.
Familiarity with SAP development governance, security standards, and best practices.
Leadership and Management Skills:
Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams, enforce coding standards, and promote a culture of excellence.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
Experience in process mapping, gap analysis, and designing technical solutions to meet business requirements.
Communication and Collaboration Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams.
Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional and offshore teams and ensure seamless project delivery.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
SAP certifications in ABAP or S/4HANA development are a plus.
