SAP DBM / VMS Consultant

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled SAP DBM / VMS Consultant with deep functional expertise in Dealer Business Management and Vehicle Management Systems. The role requires hands-on configuration and support of vehicle sales, service, and parts management processes — along with seamless integration across SAP SD, MM, FI, and CRM modules within an ECC or S/4HANA Automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

SAP DBM Configuration & Support

• Configure and support end-to-end SAP DBM processes covering vehicle sales, aftersales service, and parts management
• Set up and manage vehicle master data, model configurations, option codes, and pricing structures
• Configure vehicle status management, procurement workflows, and order-to-delivery processes
• Support dealer operations processes including sales order management, vehicle stock tracking, and delivery processing
• Troubleshoot and resolve DBM-related functional issues raised by business users within agreed SLA timelines

SAP VMS — Vehicle Management System

• Configure and maintain VMS processes for vehicle lifecycle management including acquisition, allocation, and disposal
• Manage vehicle master data structures, fleet categorisation, and vehicle attribute maintenance
• Support vehicle procurement integration with MM and inventory processes
• Ensure accurate vehicle tracking, status updates, and reporting throughout the vehicle lifecycle

Warranty & Parts Management

• Configure and support SAP warranty processes — warranty claim creation, validation, settlement, and reporting
• Set up parts management processes within DBM including parts ordering, goods receipt, and returns handling
• Align warranty and parts processes with OEM requirements and business-specific customisations

SAP Module Integration

• Design and support integration between SAP DBM/VMS and core modules — SD (sales & distribution), MM (materials management), FI (financial accounting), and CRM
• Ensure seamless data flow across modules for vehicle transactions, billing, parts procurement, and warranty settlements
• Collaborate with technical teams to support ABAP enhancements, BAdIs, and interface developments related to DBM/VMS processes

S/4HANA Automotive & ECC Support

• Support the organisation's SAP ECC Automotive Add-On landscape and contribute to S/4HANA migration planning from a DBM/VMS perspective
• Assess custom developments and configurations for S/4HANA compatibility and clean core alignment
• Participate in system upgrades, regression testing, and go-live support activities

Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation

• Work closely with business stakeholders across fleet, aftersales, finance, and procurement to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, test scripts, and training materials
• Conduct user training and provide post-go-live hypercare support

Required Skills

• SAP DBM — end-to-end configuration and support across vehicle sales, service, and parts management
• SAP VMS — vehicle master data, lifecycle management, fleet tracking
• Vehicle master data management — model configuration, option codes, pricing
• Warranty process configuration — claim creation, validation, and settlement
• Parts management — ordering, goods receipt, returns within DBM
• SAP SD / MM / FI / CRM — functional knowledge and integration experience
• SAP ECC Automotive Add-Ons and / or S/4HANA Automotive
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to issue resolution
• Excellent communication skills — able to translate business requirements into SAP solutions
• Experience in the automotive, transport, or fleet management sector preferred

Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – Sales and Distribution S/4HANA (C_TS462) — Preferred
• SAP DBM / VMS-specific training or OEM-recognised certification — Preferred
• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA for Management Accounting — Added Advantage
