SAP Transport Management Systems Technical analyst

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Solution Design & Development: Translate complex functional requirements into efficient technical solutions, developing and enhancing SAP TM components using ABAP OO (Object-Oriented ABAP), BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework), BRFplus (Business Rule Framework plus), and PPF (Post Processing Framework).
• Integration: Ensure seamless data flow by integrating SAP TM with other SAP modules (like SD, MM, EWM, FI) and external systems using technologies such as IDocs, Web Services, APIs, and CPI/PI/PO.
• Customization & Enhancements: Design and implement custom developments, BAPIs, BADIs, and enhancement frameworks to meet specific business needs not covered by standard SAP TM functionalities.
• Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting: Lead technical troubleshooting efforts, resolve complex defects, and optimize system performance during implementation and post-go-live support phases.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior developers and technical team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Documentation & Testing: Prepare detailed technical specifications, perform unit testing, and support integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Project Lifecycle Management: Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including estimation, planning, development, deployment, and cutover activities.

Critical Experiences

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 4-6+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Technical consulting with a strong focus on SAP TM.
• Expertise in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP). SAP TM or ABAP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of the BOPF framework, including custom business objects, nodes, associations, determinations, and actions and proficiency in BRFplus and PPF for automation and output management.
• Experience with FPM (Floor Plan Manager) and FBI (Floorplan Manager BOPF Integration) for UI enhancements.
• Familiarity with other modern SAP technologies like CDS views, OData services, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
• SAP Event Management and BN4L experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of core transportation and logistics business processes, such as order management, planning, execution, and freight settlement, to effectively translate functional requirements.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
