IMPORTANT: Independent Contractor Notice

This is an independent contractor position. You will not be an employee of Star Elements LLC. As an independent contractor, you set your own schedule, use your own methods and materials, and are responsible for your own taxes (including self-employment tax). Star Elements will not withhold income taxes, Social Security, or Medicare on your behalf. You will receive a Form 1099-NEC if your annual earnings exceed $600. This arrangement is governed by a written Independent Contractor Agreement.

About the Role

Join Star Elements LLC as a freelance SAT Math Tutor and help inspire students to achieve their best scores on the college admissions journey. You will deliver targeted, engaging instruction in SAT math — covering algebra, geometry, and data analysis — on a schedule that works for you. We are looking for passionate educators who bring both subject-matter expertise and the ability to motivate students of all backgrounds.

What You'll Do

• Deliver comprehensive SAT math instruction tailored to each student's needs, focusing on problem-solving strategies, algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with SAT format and current College Board standards.
• Assess student progress regularly through practice tests, quizzes, and feedback sessions, identifying areas for improvement.
• Use digital learning platforms and educational technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive virtual learning environment that motivates students to participate actively.
• Provide personalized support to students who need additional help with specific math topics or test-taking strategies.
• Communicate student progress and recommended interventions to parents, guardians, or school coordinators as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience tutoring or teaching high school mathematics, particularly SAT or standardized test preparation.
• Strong command of SAT math content: algebra, geometry, data analysis, and advanced problem-solving techniques.
• Comfort with online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and digital instructional tools.
• Excellent ability to explain complex concepts clearly, engagingly, and patiently.
• Experience creating customized lesson plans and materials tailored to standardized test formats.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varied learning styles or special education needs.
• Strong written communication skills for creating materials, assessments, and student progress summaries.
