Position Summary:
The Scheduler, Radiology supports patient access to imaging services by coordinating appointments, verifying required information, and facilitating clear communication between patients, technologists, and clinical departments. This role manages both in-person and phone-based scheduling requests, ensures accuracy of orders and registration details, and assists patients in understanding preparation requirements for imaging procedures. Working as part of a collaborative access and imaging team, the scheduler helps maintain efficient radiology operations while delivering professional, courteous service. Through attention to detail and consistent communication, this position contributes to a positive patient experience and well-organized imaging workflows.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; occasional bending, reaching, or light lifting (up to 10 lbs). Frequent use of hands and wrists for typing and phone work. Continuous communication with patients and staff. Minimal exposure to occupational hazards (Category III – no expected exposure to bloodborne pathogens). Reasonable accommodations available as needed. The Scheduler, Radiology performs work primarily in an office or reception environment that involves prolonged sitting, frequent computer and phone use, and occasional standing or walking. The position may require light lifting of office materials or patient-related documents. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for accurate data entry, communication, and operation of office equipment.
Environmental Requirements:
This role functions in a radiology department setting with regular contact with patients, staff, and clinical information systems. The environment includes frequent interruptions, a fast-paced workflow, and the need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Although exposure to clinical hazards is minimal, the position requires adherence to confidentiality, privacy regulations, and Trinity Health information-security practices to protect patient information.
