Job Title: Sleep Center Scheduler

Location: Riceland Healthcare – Sleep Center
Department: Sleep Medicine
Reports To: Sleep Center Manager / Practice Administrator

Job Summary

Riceland Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Sleep Center Scheduler to join our Sleep Medicine department. The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating sleep study appointments, verifying patient information, and ensuring efficient scheduling operations while delivering excellent customer service to patients and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule in-lab polysomnography (PSG) and home sleep tests (HST) accurately
  • Confirm, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and physician orders
  • Communicate preparation instructions and appointment details to patients
  • Coordinate daily schedules with sleep technologists and providers
  • Manage cancellations, waitlists, and last-minute schedule changes
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient data in EMR and scheduling systems
  • Answer inbound calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Assist with referrals, authorizations, and documentation as required
  • Monitor daily schedules to ensure optimal utilization of lab capacity

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in healthcare scheduling, sleep center, or medical front desk role
  • Experience scheduling diagnostic tests (sleep studies, radiology, or similar) preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
  • Experience working with EMR systems (Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
