Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning through effective lesson planning, clear objectives, and challenging tasks.
- Create a climate for learning that supports high practice, maintains pace, motivation, and challenge.
- Use assessment for learning, performance data, and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons.
- Maintain discipline in line with the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work.
- Employ a variety of teaching strategies, including appropriate questioning, resource selection, and effective use of ICT.
- Reflect on and evaluate own teaching to improve effectiveness.
Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting
- Assess achievement of learning objectives and use findings to improve teaching.
- Mark students' work at least every two weeks and set targets for progress.
- Record students' progress systematically and keep up-to-date records.
- Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in subject development by producing and reviewing curriculum plans and schemes of work.
- Keep subject knowledge up-to-date through CPD and professional reading.
- Attend professional development workshops as appropriate.
Other Professional Requirements
- Operate within the stated policies and practices of the school.
- Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and set an outstanding example to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in meetings, marketing, and liaison activities.
- Undertake staff duties, exam invigilation, rota work, and cover for absent colleagues as required.
Qualifications & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience.
- Proficiency in using technology and integrating it into teaching.
- Teaching license required.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
