ISG Jubail seeks a dynamic Middle School Science teacher with a passion for leading middle school students to construct their own understanding of science guided by the NGSS standards. This person would demonstrate a commitment to a well-rounded and flexible Science program that encompasses interdisciplinary connections, literacy, and authentic/relevant learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be passionate about guiding the learning of middle school students in particular and understand the importance of that age range both for the individual student and for the life of the school. ISG Jubail has a strong sense of community. The successful candidate would be committed to contributing to the whole school community beyond the confines of the Science program. Specifically with regards to middle school science, the successful candidate will be able to effectively:

The candidate must have:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep pedagogical content knowledge in science.
- Current certification/licensure to teach science.
- An advanced degree in a related field of study
- Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
- Knowledge of Understanding by Design (UbD) principles
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
- Teaching science at the middle school level in an international context
- Leading and inspiring middle school students to be informed and inspired community members and leaders
- Organizing student projects and performance tasks
- Designing interdisciplinary units of inquiry
- Documenting curriculum according to Understanding by Design (UbD) principles
- Designing programs based on the NGSS Standards
- Collaborating in a professional setting with large and small groups of colleagues
- Leading groups of students and faculty
