About the Role:

As a Scribe, you will play a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time. Your primary objective is to ensure that medical records are complete, precise, and timely, which directly contributes to the quality of patient care and operational efficiency. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to capture detailed clinical information, allowing providers to focus more on patient interaction rather than administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare workflows to effectively translate verbal communication into comprehensive documentation. Ultimately, your work will enhance the accuracy of medical records, improve provider productivity, and support compliance with healthcare regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency in medical terminology and clinical documentation.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent listening and typing skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a medical scribe or completion of a medical scribe training program.
  • Familiarity with various EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits to document history, physical exams, procedures, and other relevant clinical information in real-time.
  • Review and organize patient charts and medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to clarify ambiguous information and ensure proper documentation standards are met.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in updating electronic health records (EHR) systems with accurate and timely data entry.

Skills:

The required skills such as proficiency in medical terminology and strong typing abilities are essential for accurately capturing detailed patient information during clinical encounters. Familiarity with EHR systems enables efficient and precise data entry, ensuring that records are up-to-date and compliant with healthcare standards.
