Scrum Master – P&C Insurance

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain knowledge to support Agile delivery teams. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile practices, remove impediments, and ensure teams deliver high-quality insurance solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires close collaboration with product owners, engineering teams, and insurance business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams within P&C insurance initiatives
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
• Coach teams on Agile/Scrum principles, values, and best practices
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed and prioritized backlog
• Remove team impediments and proactively manage dependencies and risks
• Promote continuous improvement, team accountability, and delivery predictability
• Track and report Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down, sprint commitments, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, claims, policy administration, and IT
• Support Agile transformation initiatives and scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or similar)
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance and insurance regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach
• Strong experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance
  • Exposure to underwriting, claims, billing, or policy administration systems
• Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or Rally
