SE - School of Biological & Physical Sciences - Lab Assistant

Required Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
• Must currently be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), or a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
• Transient and Dual Enrollment students are in eligible for student employment.

• Up to 20 hours.

• Monday through Friday. (Flexible)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with chemical preparation, cleaning glassware, and setting up science laboratories.
• Maintain clean, organized, and spill-free work areas; report any chemistry lab-related issues to the lab manager.
• Keep classrooms and laboratory preparation areas clean and organized.
• Assist with maintaining inventory supplies and the proper use of first aid equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Must have successfully completed both BSC 1010 and CHM 1025.
• Must be able to safely work with chemicals and maintain a clean work environment.
• Must be present, punctual, and able to perform the assigned duties.
• Must be physically able to bend carry, lift and climb as required.
• Must be able to follow and write instructions accurately and precisely.
• Must possess strong computer skills (email, Word, Excel, etc.) and be self-motivated.
• Must be able to work independently, professionally and demonstrate excellent communication skills
