The Office of Audit and Investigations (OAI) reports to the Administrator and is responsible for internal audit and investigations services to UNDP and its affiliated entities. OAI provides independent, objective assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls. As part of its assurance work, OAI also supports the annual audit exercise of non-governmental/nationally implemented projects (HACT/NIM projects) in some 150 countries where UNDP operates and reviews and analyses the resulting audit reports submitted by audit firms and government audit institutions.
OAI has a decentralized organizational structure with Directorate and other headquarter units based in New York, and Regional Audit Centre&rsquo;s (RACs) located in five regions: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Asia Pacific), Pretoria, South Africa (East and South Africa), Dakar, Senegal (North, West and Central Africa), Panama City, Panama (Latin America and the Caribbean) and Istanbul, Turkey (Europe and the CIS).
The Audit Analyst reports to the Chief, Regional Audit Center for Europe, Middle East and CIS based in Istanbul.
Position Purpose
RAC ECME covers a portfolio of 32 UNDP country offices in the region. Under the supervision of the Chief, the primary role of the Audit Analyst is to perform internal audits of UNDP country offices in the regions and to review the reports resulting from the DIM annual audit exercise. The incumbent may also contribute to other engagements in OAI&rsquo;s global portfolio. The location of the offices covered by the RAC ECME may include undertaking audit assignments in areas with hardship or hazardous working conditions.
UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Risk Assessment and oversight of work by audit firms
<ul><li>As member of an audit team and under the supervision of the team leader, prepare/participate in the preparation of risk-based audit plans/programmes.
</li><li>Prepare working papers for review by the audit team leader.
</li><li>Draft specific parts of audit reports for review by the team leader.
</li><li>Monitor the implementation of agreed recommendations and advise on problem areas.
</li><li>Participate in the annual exercise for the audit of projects directly implemented by UNDP, which includes the following tasks:
<ul><li>Review the annual DIM plan and support the preparation of RFP to external audit firms.
</li><li>Assess qualitatively and quantitatively proposals for audit services received from audit firms.
</li><li>Oversee the work by audit firms and provides clarifications to external audit firms.

Participates in local Industry group meetings, when applicable, shaping the external environment and identifying changes and trends, communicating them to the ACIF and the OEC Area &amp; International Leadership, and implementing necessary changes in the Affiliate Compliance Program.</li><li>
Develops, implements, modifies and oversees the execution of the Affiliate monitoring plan to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.</li><li>
In consultation with Legal where applicable, and working with ACIF, ensure any country-specific externally mandated anti-bribery/anti-corruption systems (co-ordination, governance, process) are implemented and functioning as required. Examples include contributing to the creation of the model itself, coordinating the Affiliate Audit Team (internal or external) by defining the Audit Plan, Sample Methodology, analysis of any observations, and definition of the corrective and preventive measures.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required.</li><li>
Equivalent work experience from Finance, Audit, Commercial, Legal or Regulatory strongly preferred.</li><li>
Professional experience in Compliance, and exposure to functions such as Legal, Regulatory, Finance or Government Affairs.</li><li>
Pharmaceutical and Global industry experience preferred.</li><li>
Possesses a deep understanding of the business and environment.</li><li>
Has a learning mindset, digs deep for insights to guide actions and routinely measures to determine impact.</li><li>
Sets clear direction, prioritizes effectively and can make informed choices that drive impact. Has the ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution of the Compliance program and easily switch between both.</li><li>

 This is a Credit Analysis role and sits within Global Corporate &amp; Investment Banking, sitting alongside CIB bankers to promote an optimal risk / return on the banks&rsquo; lending opportunities.
 
 
 It offers exposure to a wide range of client transactions and provides daily interaction with multiple stakeholders within MUFG&rsquo;s London office, as well as other EMEA and Tokyo teams.
 
 
 
 
 
 Key responsibilities include:
