The Building Mechanic oversees and performs all facility maintenance and upkeep. We are seeking candidates with 5-7 years of related experience.</p><p></p><p><br>
Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain any building required NYC licenses within one (1) year of date. Timeframe to obtain licenses will be determined by management.</p><p></p><p><br>
They must have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training, and a high school diploma is required.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following</b>:</p><ul><li>
Perform building repairs and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and craft services to ensure operation within design capabilities and achievement of proper environmental conditions as prescribed by the Property Manager.</li><li>
Oversee the efficient operation of facility equipment and systems.</li><li>
Communicate with management regarding matters related to services performed.</li><li>
Assist the Chief Engineer to oversee that tenant improvements are performed safely and efficiently.</li><li>
Work with the Chief Engineer to administer an effective and accountable preventative maintenance system tailored to the facility.</li><li>
Regularly evaluate all equipment and systems, providing Management with a list of deficiency items and recommendations for improvement.</li><li>
Possess licenses and permits required by local laws and ordinances to operate, repair, and maintain the facility's equipment and systems.</li><li>
Monitor and adjust the Building Management System (BMS).</li><li>
Operate fire life safety systems.</li><li>
Be available on-call for emergencies related to the operations of the building.</li><li>
Operate, maintain, and repair all HVAC equipment which includes, but is not limited to: compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, steam traps, pumps, expansion valves, refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperature, and air conditioning systems in their entirety, including the use of approved recovery equipment and processes to comply with all laws and regulations.</li><li>
Inspect building automation systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy tracking devices.</li><li>
Inspect electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fans.</li><li>
Inspect electrical/control systems, all motor controls and related equipment drivers such as variable frequency drives (VFD's).</li><li>
Maintain and upkeep equipment / mechanical rooms.</li><li>
Perform daily rounds of facilities.</li><li>
Enter and complete Work Orders.</li><li>
HVAC: Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot HVAC systems. Complete routine preventive maintenance and repairs, including changing filters, belts, checking fluid levels, adjusting space temperatures, diagnosing and repairing VAV boxes, heat pumps, changing motors, calibrating and repairing pneumatic systems, etc.</li><li>
Electrical: diagnose electrical issues, troubleshoot, changing lights, ballasts, performing minor repairs.</li><li>
Plumbing: bathrooms repairs, soldering, snake drains, replace flushometers.</li><li>
Perform any additional duties on as required</li><li>

In this role, you will directly contribute to core building blocks of Notion's user experience, and will be a key player in building a robust technical foundation that can scale to individual users and large organizations alike.

   You'll lead strategic projects that improve Notion&rsquo;s core user experience. You will work with cross-functional partners across product, design, data science, and user research to develop a product and technical vision that makes software toolmaking intuitive and scalable for all. You will drive execution on the team to deliver high-quality features to our users.

   You&rsquo;ll build and maintain foundational pieces of Notion&rsquo;s building blocks, enabling a wide array of use cases in Notion such as docs, wikis, issue tracking, project management, and more.

   Proven track record of execution: You have 7+ years of engineering experience, including several years building world-class product experiences alongside a team of engineers.
  </li>

   Tech leadership experience: You have previously held positions where you were responsible for making key technical decisions, guiding a team through complex projects, and mentoring junior team members.
  </li>
  <li>
   Shipping quality user interfaces: You partner closely with product and design to craft beautiful user experiences for large audiences, leveraging web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern UI framework like React. If you've experienced the technical challenges of rapid growth, that's a plus.
  </li>

   Building the team: You enjoy collaborating with both fellow engineers and cross-functional partners. You are a lifelong learner and invest in both your own growth, but also the growth, learning, and development of your teammates.

 Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role&rsquo;s scope and complexity, and the candidate&rsquo;s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $230,000 - $320,000 per year.
