The Forensic Court Representative on the ATI Intake Assessment Team conducts comprehensive assessments of justice-involved individuals to determine their eligibility for Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) programs. This role involves interviewing participants, reviewing legal and clinical records, and preparing detailed reports and recommendations for court stakeholders. The representative will work closely with judges, attorneys, and other court personnel to advocate for appropriate community-based treatment plans. What You Will Be Doing:</b></div><ul><li>
Review preliminary information about a participant&rsquo;s needs, including arrest case information, criminal legal history, medical and mental health records, and attorney recommendations.</li><li>
Undertake screening interviews with potential participants by explaining the process and the CASES program(s), administering a comprehensive assessment, and conduct risk assessments utilizing the HCR-20 v3 and the Short-Term Assessment of Risk and Treatability (START) adult and adolescent versions.</li><li>
Conduct screening and assessment of individuals incarcerated, in the community, and at Forensic Psychiatric Centers and be able to effectively manage crises to ensure participant safety and well-being.</li><li>
Develop comprehensive reports following interview and a records review to develop individualized ATI program plans, in compliance with ATI assessment requirements and quality standards, to advocate with prosecutors and judges on behalf of participants to approve ATI disposition.</li><li>
Maintain excellent professional relationships with judges, district attorneys, defense counsel, probation, other court partners, and CASES community staff, to facilitate program admissions and maintain the credibility of CASES in court.</li><li>
Complete all necessary intake paperwork, including entering participant information into the ECM/AWARDS databases.</li><li>
Participate in clinical supervision, case review meetings, staff meetings, in service training programs, relevant quality improvement, coaching, and planning activities.</li><li>
Provide culturally competent services ensuring the consideration of the role of ethnic/racial, cultural, social, economic, and behavioral factors in the accessibility, availability, and delivery of evaluation services.</li><li>

THE OPPORTUNITY</b></p><p>
Launched in 1993, the award-winning Midtown Community Justice Center is one of the country&rsquo;s first problem-solving courts. It provides alternatives to fines and jail as a response to low-level crime. Seeking to reduce crime and incarceration and increase public trust in justice, the Midtown Community Justice Center works with neighborhood stakeholders to improve Midtown Manhattan, and to serve the vibrant Midtown community, specifically those in need of services. The court responds creatively to low-level offending, seeking sentences that are restorative to the victim, defendant, and community. Further, the Midtown staff engage in ongoing community engagement events to promote community wellness and to help connect people in need to voluntary services.</p><p>
Midtown Community Justice is seeking a Bilingual Case Manager for the Intake team. Reporting to the Coordinator of Court Operations, the Case Manager will be responsible for coordinating new referrals, conducting intakes and screenings, reengaging former and existing participants to complete mandated services, orienting new participants to the Midtown Community Justice Center, and scheduling participants for services. The Case Manager will also be responsible for providing one-on-one case management support to participants in need of services. Once a participant is enrolled in programming, the Case Manager will provide regular written updates and compliance reports to the court, including to the judge, clerks, defense attorneys, and prosecutors.</p><p></p><b>
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b><ul><li>
Conduct comprehensive needs-based intakes and assessments for clients referred to Midtown Community Justice Center and from other Center project sites;</li><li>
Schedule participants for mandated social services and/or community engagement sessions;</li><li>
