This role create delivery excellence across assigned project/program/portfolio of projects, provide certainty and confidence to the customer/project sponsor, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.

 Job Summary:
 
 
 
 The Engineering Manager is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department at Raffles &amp; Fairmont Doha. This role ensures that all hotel facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, are properly maintained and meet safety, quality, and service standards. The Engineering Manager also focuses on energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities

 Operational Oversight:

 Support the Chief Engineer in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all systems and facilities are running efficiently and effectively.

 Monitor and maintain the functionality of critical hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire safety systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Respond quickly to guest and operational requests, ensuring prompt and professional handling of all maintenance issues.
 </li>
 </ul>

 Team Leadership:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Supervise, train, and mentor engineering staff, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians, ensuring high performance and technical competency.

 Assign daily tasks to the engineering team and ensure proper follow-up and task completion.
 </li>
 <li>
 Foster a collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement within the department.

 Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
 </li>

 Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and facilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that regular inspections are performed on equipment and hotel facilities to identify and resolve any potential issues before they impact operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with operational standards.
 </li>
 </ul>

 Energy and Sustainability Management:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Support the development and implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor energy and water consumption, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing waste.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that engineering activities align with the hotel's corporate social responsibility and environmental goals.
 </li>
 </ul>

 Health, Safety, and Compliance:
 </li>
 <ul>

 Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international safety regulations and building codes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee the safe operation of all hotel facilities, including maintaining fire safety systems, emergency lighting, and building security.
 </li>

 Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response exercises, ensuring readiness in case of any incidents.
 </li>

 Budget and Inventory Management:
 </li>

 <li>
 Assist in managing the engineering department's budget, including tracking expenditures for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
 </li>

 Oversee inventory control for spare parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability while minimizing excess stock.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with the purchasing team to procure materials and services as required for repairs and ongoing maintenance work.
 </li>

 Project Management:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Assist with the planning and execution of renovation and capital improvement projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
 </li>
 <li>
 Liaise with external contractors and service providers to ensure high-quality project execution, particularly for large-scale engineering projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of engineering systems as needed during renovations or upgrades.
 </li>

 Collaboration with Other Departments:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 Work closely with housekeeping, food &amp; beverage, and front office departments to ensure that guest areas and back-of-house facilities are well maintained and operational.

 Ensure clear communication between the engineering department and other teams, providing updates on projects, repairs, and maintenance schedules.

 Qualifications
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
 </li>
 <li>
 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

 <li>
 Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in energy management, sustainability initiatives, and cost control is preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in using relevant software, including BMS (Building Management Systems) and maintenance tracking systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
