ROLE SUMMARY
TruGrid is looking for a Motivated &amp; Dependable Field Service Technician to support Service and O&amp;M (Operations &amp; Maintenance) of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar Systems in California. This position reports to the Director of Operations (O&amp;M), or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position requires being located in California, United States. Working hours will be as required but generally 40-50 hours per week. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as well. This position is expected to travel approximately 25%, depending on location proximity to job site locations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Provide world-class customer service to customers and contracting partners</li>
<li>Inspect, maintain and service Solar and BESS assets per manufacturer, NETA and IEEE Standards in the field, at the site, and create supporting documentation through company reporting standards and processes which include citing issues, their severity, results of field repairs, and proposing recommendations</li>
<li>Review project drawings packages and manufacturer specifications and actual installed equipment to confirm assets meet design and manufacturer standards and are in a state of good repair</li>
<li>Test electrical and mechanical devices to confirm specific operation is maintained as required</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of LOTO (lock Out Tag Out) safety and best practices</li>
<li>Strong electrical theory knowledge for use in system testing and to ensure electrical safety</li>
<li>Utilize computer systems to perform analysis on SEL relay event logs, inverter firmware updates, BESS system analytics, SCADA and HMI systems</li>
<li>Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending as required educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations, attend company directed training</li>
<li>Participate in and be attentive for company and customer meetings and regular peer review of work prior to submission</li>
<li>Operate company vehicle in a safe manner</li>
<li>Conduct site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on the job site, properly generate and complete JHA/JSA, LOTO, and other safety-related documentation as per OSHA and site-specific requirements.</li>
</ul>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent education</li>
<li>2-4 years of post-secondary education, preferably, in the renewable industry including Wind, Solar, and Battery</li>
<li>Electrical Background including either Electrician or Electrical Technician Training</li>
<li>1+ years&rsquo; equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training</li>
<li>SCADA/PLC or Protection and Controls experience preferred</li>
<li>Medium and High voltage experience preferred</li>
<li>Strong electrical mechanical day to day working aptitude and experience</li>
<li>Experience in renewables, preferred</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication</li>
<li>Basic Microsoft Suite knowledge</li>
