The Opportunity:
The Lunar Gateway, a vital component of NASA&rsquo;s Artemis Program, will serve as a multi-purpose outpost orbiting the Moon that provides essential support for long-term human return to the lunar surface and serves as a staging point for deep space exploration. CACI is looking for an experienced Flight Software Integration Engineer to provide NASA Johnson Space Center with software skills in the development and integration of NASA&rsquo;s Lunar Gateway vehicle flight software. This software engineering position requires working on integrating the software products developed by NASA and commercial partners, developing tests and simulation software to verify the integrated software on flight computers, and ensuring the integrated Gateway software meets the integration objectives and software requirements. 
This position requires a self-motivated, capable software engineer with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people oriented, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles. 
This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, Texas, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative. 
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Gain an understanding of the overall Gateway flight software systems, software dependencies, software interface, and the data flow between the systems.</li><li>
Perform systems engineering in support of software requirements and interface definitions, design, and performance analysis.</li><li>
Perform software integration, test, and verification.</li><li>
Integrate and test Gateway software/hardware in avionics test bed and flight certification environments.</li><li>
Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across multiple NASA programs and projects.</li><li>
Develop software prototype and device software simulation to facilitate software design and testing.</li></ul> 
Qualifications: 
 
Required:<ul><li>
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities.</li><li>
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines.</li><li>
At least three years of experience in software development and integration. More experience is highly valued.</li><li>
Strong C programming skills.</li><li>
Strong Linux experience.</li><li>
Python development skills.</li><li>
Experience developing embedded software for Real-time Operating Systems, preferably VxWorks.</li><li>
Experience with communication protocols such as Space Packet Protocol (SPP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP).</li><li>
Must have experience in the entire software life cycle.</li><li>
Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.</li><li>
Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.</li></ul>

Experience in human-rated space vehicles, e.g., Space Shuttle, Space Station, Orion, Commercial Crew, and in specific vehicle software domains (e.g., C&amp;T, C&amp;DH, GN&amp;C software).</li><li>
Experience in NASA Core Flight Software (CFS).</li><li>
Experience in Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE).</li><li>
Experience in other bus communication protocols (e.g., 1553, RS-422, RS-232, USB, Ethernet).</li><li>
Experience in software and systems integration and testing.</li><li>
Experience in automated testing.</li><li>
