Senior Planning Engineer

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our dedicated team. This is a FULL_TIME position based in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing comprehensive project schedules for our large-scale construction projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget by providing expert planning, scheduling, and progress analysis. We are looking for a meticulous and strategic professional with a proven track record in the construction industry. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain detailed master project schedules, including all phases from engineering to commissioning. • Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identifying potential delays and proposing corrective actions. • Prepare and present regular progress reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to project management and key stakeholders. • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate progress data and ensure alignment of project plans. • Analyse project risks and opportunities, providing critical insights to support decision-making. • Manage resource and cost loading to ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of resources throughout the project lifecycle. • Prepare 'what-if' scenarios and delay analyses to assess the impact of changes and claims. • Ensure that all planning and scheduling activities comply with contractual requirements and company standards. • Utilise advanced planning software, such as Primavera P6, to manage complex project timelines. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. • A minimum of 15 years of proven experience as a Senior Planning Engineer in the construction sector, preferably on large-scale building or infrastructure projects. • Expert proficiency in project planning software, particularly Primavera P6 and MS Project. • In-depth knowledge of project control principles, scheduling methodologies, and critical path analysis. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences. • Experience working in the Middle East is highly desirable. • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) would be an advantage.
