Job Purpose:The School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Communication &amp; Coordination<ul><li>Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health issues and emergencies.</li><li>Coordinate with local health authorities and hospitals for emergencies, immunization drives, and health campaigns.</li><li>Assist in organizing annual medical check-ups for students and staff.</li></ul>5.  The Primary Nurse provides individualized nursing care, according to treatment plans, to best meet patient needs.  Bachelor&amp;#39;s Degree of Science in Nursing.
 
 
 - 3 years of experience in Nursing, includes 1 year experience in mental health or Addiction.

 - Eligible for license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar to practice Healthcare Profession.
 
 
 - Strong command of English and Arabic.

Purpose of Role
The Nurse is responsible to oversee the function of the School First Aid Unit by promoting health and safety, including actual and potential health problem intervention; case management services; records and database maintenance.
To act as first responder in medical emergencies.
To have an in-depth knowledge of nursing best practices with a high degree of professionalism to support the whole School.
The Nurse will provide quality health care support to the school and will be part of the pastoral care team for students.

Orientation for staff, students, and parents.

Taking immediate measures when severe health conditions occur.
</li><li>Overseeing immunization/survey programs run by the health departments and ensuring compliance with all statuary, and legal requirements under the directive of the Qatar Supreme Council of Health and other legislative bodies</li><li>
Liaising with field trip leaders/team co- coordinators. Checking nature of trip, time and location and preparing first aid kits as per nature of the trip e.g. include vinegar if going to the beach</li><li>
Updating list of students&rsquo; medical conditions/allergies and personal students&rsquo; medication (EpiPen&rsquo;s, insulin etc.) to go with the team leaders</li><li>
Reminding the parents of students who require daily medication to send the medication in a zip lock bag with name of the student, name of medication, dosage, and time to be given</li><li>
Preparing a supply of Panadol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, spare Ventolin Inhaler and reminding team leaders to call parents if any medication is to be dispensed</li><li>
Supporting children with medical needs like asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, etc.</li><li>
Provides health education information directly to individual students, groups of students, or classes or by providing guidance and consultation about health and promoting health, with a specific focus on:</li></ul><ul><li>Exercise and healthy eating</li><li>Dealing with stress</li><li>Mental health and wellbeing, including depression and bullying</li><li>Drug and alcohol abuse and smoking</li></ul><ul><li>

Required Skills, Qualification &amp; Experience<ul><li>

Updated First Aid Training &amp; Child Protection</li><li>
Up to date knowledge and compliance to Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Local Municipalities and or other relevant Ministry Directives/Laws</li><li>
Background/experience preferred in pediatric nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing and/or emergency room nursing.</li></ul>
