Under the direction of the Data Solution Services Manager, the Information Technology Specialist I, within the Business Intelligence &amp; Data Analytics team, functions independently as an ETL Engineer responsible for complex data Extract Transformation Load (ETL) activities. The ETL Engineer follows the guidelines and templates to design and implement ETL scripts and workflows in both CalSTRS on-premises environments and CalSTRS cloud platforms to build data pipelines, enhance data quality, mine business data, develop business reports, and systematically transform raw data information into meaningful business intelligence. <p><b>Role</b></p><p>Extends IT support services to staff and clients. Keeps the network computing systems operating efficiently and assure that computing standards are implemented and enforced; Troubleshoots and resolves system problems and assists with project management research, implementation and system administrative duties.</p><p>Must be local to Central Indiana.</p><p><b>Major Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Responds to internal inquiries and develops solutions for component failures and complex technical problems in all of these areas to deliver a sound and stable computing infrastructure; providing exceptional support while demonstrating a sense of priorities.</li><li>Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots workstations, servers, and all other computer related systems, mobile devices, and equipment. Maintains documented resolutions and operating procedures.</li><li>Coordinates with fellow IT Staff to ensure timely completion of daily, monthly and quarterly reports and processes.</li><li>Perform installations at customer locations for internet, phone.</li><li>Perform service calls to customer locations to repair internet, phone, and network services and equipment.</li><li>Install and replace ethernet and coax cabling in and around building structures.</li><li>Configure routers and router technologies</li><li>Assist customers with connecting devices to the internet, set up tv receivers and remotes, and repairing other problems related to internet, phone, and tv services.</li><li>Maintain user accounts on networks and applications. Make certain proper permissions are established within applications and in the network operating systems.</li></ul><p><b>Experience</b></p><p>Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.</p><p><b>Education/Certifications/Licenses</b></p><p>Equivalent skill and knowledge, or a college degree.</p><p><b>Physical Requirements</b></p><p>Able to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
