The successful applicant will become a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) V project Local Volume Mapper (LVM), which is currently conducting the large optical spectroscopic survey of the Milky Way and Magellanic Clouds. In addition to working with the LVM team of the reduction of this data, in particular the visualization tools needed to effectively disseminate this data to the broader scientific community. In addition to work on LVM, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to ongoing optical spectroscopic studies of high-energy astrophysical sources &ndash; including active galactic nuclei (AGN) and supernova remnant (SNRs) &ndash; as well as lead their own research projects.<br>

The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years.

 The post-doctoral associate will spend half of their time on independent research and half on collaborative projects with Professors Veda Narasimhan and Ra&uuml;l Santaeul&agrave;lia-Llopis. The collaborative work will focus on health and family economics, including projects on obesity, health insurance, and public health systems. We seek candidates who are skilled in solving quantitative macroeconomic models with heterogeneous agents, in empirical quasi-experimental analysis, or ideally in both. The candidate must have expertise in, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in, the analysis of administrative data.

The Program offers teaching towards the BA with a major or a minor in Legal Studies. The Program teaches courses mainly in the common law, but provides many opportunities to study civil law.<br>

We approach questions of legal doctrine against the background of broader questions of human experience. What is justice? What is Law? How is it organized? What are the legal issues raised by global concerns such as those about the environment, technology, and trade?
